Levi’s shop is the last two doors on the left on the S. side of the building. Please park directly in front of or behind his shop or against the curb on the N. side of the building and not in front of other shops.
BRING YOUR OWN CHAIR OR SIT ON THE FLOOR
The September meeting featured J. Paul Fennell. See the September 2005 newsletter for links to his gallery work and to his Demo pages for information and photos from his presentation. This was an outstanding demonstration of various techniques and had information for both the beginning and advanced turner.
The first meeting on October 15th will be our standard hands on workshop with 4 lathes and mentors to teach beginning turners tool use, sharpening methods, and other tricks of the trade. These are always fun events and everyone learns something new and useful to improve their turning skills and enjoyment.
The second meeting on October 30th is the all day demonstration with English master turner and demonstrator Chris Stott. [as of 2-1-07 the link to his Home Page may not be working so go to Carolina mountain woodturners link to get an idea of what he will be presenting.] His work is totally different than most of the other demonstrators we have had this year and should provide new ideas and methods just in time for the holiday season. Be sure to RSVP with Ron (see above) to save your space.
The November 19th meeting will feature member Sam Turner demonstrating hollowing techniques on a smaller scale that is practical on most any lathe. We will also be holding the election or officers for next year. If you are interested in helping the club’s activities either as an officer or worker bee give Jim Rinde, past-president and chair of the nominating committee a call.
