For the swap meet, bring your excess wood and unused tools for sale to club members. Ten percent of the sale price goes to the club treasury. It might be wise to carpool if possible because parking was tight last year. Bring a chair.
The February 28 meeting featured Al Geller demonstrating tips and tricks related to bowl turning. Click Here to see Sam Turner’s write-up of the event and a copy of Al’s notes. For photos of the meeting, Click Here, and for even more photos illustrating Al’s points, Click Here.

Whimsical Project
Remember to bring your Whimsical piece to this month’s club meeting. Even though it is the swap meet, we will still be doing our show and tell. If you didn’t get a chance to do a whimsical piece, please bring your latest work to the show and tell.
Avocado Bowls
Many of you who where at the February meeting brought home some avocado from Tim Albers. Tim has been generous year after year supplying the club with avocado and making a cash donation to the club. Tim uses the bowls we provide as thank-you gifts to the customers of Mission Produce. You do not have to make anything fancy, a simple shape is appreciated. Let’s really show our support this year for Tim and bring a finished bowl to the March or April meeting. My effort is drying in grocery bags and it should be dried and oiled by the March meeting. And I still have a piece left for myself!
Membership Chair
Please join the Board in welcoming Stan Wolpert as the Club’s Membership Chairperson.
Stan has graciously volunteered to assist in integrating new members into the club. Stan will be responsible for signing up new members and helping to make them feel welcome in the club and at our meetings. Stan will also let new members know of the resources available through the club, help partner them with a mentor if needed, and keep track of lending out the club lathe.
